Demonstration Alert – U.S. Embassy Montevideo, Uruguay

Location:  Announced gathering points include, but are not limited to, the following locations in Montevideo, Uruguay:

• Plaza Colón

Event:  A demonstration is expected to take place on November 2, 2023, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in Plaza Colón in northern Montevideo.  The group intends to rally in support of Palestine.  U.S. government personnel and U.S. citizens are advised to avoid the area of the demonstration on November 2, 2023, from 7:00 p.m. until 12:00 a.m.

Actions to Take:

• Avoid the area where the demonstration is taking place.
• Be aware of your surroundings.
• Exercise caution if unexpectedly in the vicinity of large gatherings or protests.
• Monitor local media for updates.
• Keep a low profile.
