The U.S. Consulate in Uruguay hosted the third ConsulTA workshop for consular officers and representatives accredited to Uruguay. The workshop, which was held on August 3 at the official residence of the Ambassador, included U.S. Ambassador Kelly Keiderling and representatives from the Ministry of Education and Culture, the Ministry of Social Development, the Public Health Service Administration, and NGO PLAI as participants.
ConsulTA workshops seek to strengthen consular work and communication between delegations by creating a forum to exchange experiences and best practices on how to deal with situations frequently faced by participants.
Expert presentations during this third ConsulTA workshop were focused on child abduction, mental health and vulnerable populations, and domestic violence and assistance services.

It was also an occasion to bid farewell to Corey Bordenkecher, creator of these workshops and outgoing U.S. Consular Chief, and welcome Leslie Linnemeier, incoming Consular Chief.
