In order to guide you through the process of creating an account in this new system and applying to the vacancies you are interested in successfully, we include a video with the steps to follow, as well as guidelines with information about every step of the process. For more information, once in ERA, please click the name of the vacancy announcement you are interested in and review all the information about it, such as duties, qualifications, and requirements.
If you are selected for tests and/or interviews, you will receive an e-mail from ERA. Please make sure you enter your e-mail address correctly, and remember to check your spam folder (some notifications may go there). The Embassy receives a large number of applications, so it cannot confirm it has received each and every one of them.

What should I check before applying?
Please read the entire vacancy announcement to make sure you are eligible, and you meet all the requirements. Make sure you attach all required documents when submitting your job application. Candidates who do not attach all required documentation will not be considered. Employees hired overseas must have the Eight Qualities of Overseas Employees, a set of essential characteristics to be a successful member of a U.S. Embassy, Consulate or Mission which is described in the document found on the side bar.
