The U.S. Embassy in Montevideo is pleased to announce the inauguration of a new Consular Services entrance effective February 3, 2015. The new entrance is located at the southeast corner of the Embassy, at the intersection of Lauro Muller and Yaro streets.
This new point of entry was designed to provide comfort, convenience and efficiency for visa applicants with scheduled interviews at the Embassy. It will also provide a specific access point for U.S. citizens who require assistance. Additionally, it will keep visitors’ time at the embassy to a minimum with faster processing of consular and U.S. citizen services.
The Embassy has also provided additional staff to help expedite the entrance of people and improve the service provided by the Consular Section.
Remember:
- Please arrive at the Consular Section 15 minutes before the time set for your appointment.
- Only applicants with appointments will be allowed entry.
- Only people requiring assistance may be accompanied.
- Applicants will not be allowed to access the building with cell phones, electronic devices or large bags.
People coming to the Embassy for business with other sections will continue to enter the building using the main entrance on Lauro Muller.
